How Kalshi Works for NFL Games
Kalshi isn’t a sportsbook. It’s a prediction market regulated by the CFTC, so instead of betting against the house, you’re trading against other users.
Every contract is priced between $0.01 and $0.99. That price is basically the market’s take on how likely something is to happen. If the Saints trade at 56 cents, the market gives them about a 56% chance to win.
If you’re right, your contract pays out $1. If you’re wrong, it’s worth nothing.
You also don’t have to hold until the final whistle. If the price moves your way in the second quarter, you can sell and lock in a profit early. That’s a big difference from a standard bet.
Saints vs. Falcons Preview
Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET, Monday, Oct. 5
Where: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans
TV: ESPN and ABC
Both teams come in at 1-2, and in a weak NFC South, nobody wants to fall to 1-3.
There’s more on the line than the standings, too. Tonight marks 20 years since the famous “Domecoming” game, when the Saints returned to the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina and beat these same Falcons on Monday night.
The Falcons lead the all-time regular-season series 57-56. A Saints win ties it up.
Saints Outlook
Tyler Shough has gotten off to a strong start under Kellen Moore. The offense has been moving the ball.
The problem is the run game. Travis Etienne is on IR with a hamstring injury, and that’s a tough spot against a Falcons defense that’s been elite against the run.
The Saints also need to shake off a frustrating Week 3 home loss to the Raiders.
Falcons Outlook
Atlanta’s season changed when Michael Penix Jr. got back under center. The Falcons are 1-0 with him starting and 0-2 without him.
Kevin Stefanski’s offense looked much sharper with Penix last week. Bijan Robinson and Drake London give him two weapons the Saints have to account for every snap.
On defense, Atlanta has quietly been one of the better units in the league so far.
The Line
Sportsbooks have the Saints as small home favorites, somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5 points depending on where you look. The total sits around 47.5.
That moneyline works out to roughly a 55-56% win chance for New Orleans. If Kalshi’s Saints contracts are trading near that number, the market sees this one as close to a coin flip.
Plenty of analysts are leaning Falcons as the road dog, mostly because of Penix’s return and that run defense.

Kalshi Markets to Watch Tonight
- Game winner: The simplest play. Buy Saints or Falcons contracts and hold or sell.
- Point spread: Trade on whether the Saints cover a small number at home.
- Total points: With the total up from the mid-40s since Penix came back, the over/under is worth a look.
- In-game trading: Prices move with every drive. If you like a team that falls behind early, you might get a cheaper entry.
Bottom Line
Saints vs. Falcons has the rivalry, the anniversary, and two teams that badly need a win. It’s a fun one to trade.
