“Accepts gift cards” can mean two different things at an online casino, and mixing them up is the fastest way to get frustrated. At some sites you can fund your account with a prepaid card. At others, you can cash out your winnings as a retailer gift card instead of money in your bank account. Most sweepstakes casinos do the second one well and the first one only sometimes.

Two Ways Gift Cards Work at Online Casinos
Redeeming prizes as a gift card. At a sweepstakes casino, you win Sweeps Coins and exchange them for a prize. The prize can be cash by bank transfer, or a digital gift card from a retailer. Gift cards usually have the lowest minimum, often around 10 SC versus 50 to 100 SC for cash, which is why many players use them.
Funding your account with a gift card. This means paying for coin packages (or, at a real-money casino, making a deposit) with a prepaid card. Visa and Mastercard prepaid cards are sometimes accepted, but not everywhere, and a prepaid card is generally a purchase-only option. A store gift card that only works at one retailer won’t work for this.

Redemptions are typically 1 SC = $1, and Prizeout often adds a small bonus when you choose a retailer. One reviewer turned a 10 SC redemption into a $10.30 card, and other reports show bonuses of 10 to 15% on some brands. The cards are digital and, according to Prizeout’s terms, don’t expire.
Can You Fund an Account With a Gift Card?
Sometimes, but it’s the less reliable route.
- Prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards may work at sweepstakes sites for coin purchases. Some sites accept them and some decline them.
- Retailer gift cards (Amazon, Walmart and so on) can’t be used to buy coins.
