    Saturday, Sept. 12<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Oklahoma at Michigan \u2014 Oklahoma -5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    276 total yards and 13 points against a MAC team. That’s Michigan’s opener, and now they’re catching a ranked Sooners team on the road off it. Mateer looked completely fine throwing it \u2014 225 yards, three touchdowns \u2014 and Oklahoma’s run defense has been elite for two years running now. Yes, Michigan usually opens hot. Doesn’t matter if the o-line can’t hold up. I’m laying the number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ohio State at Texas \u2014 Texas -1.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Genuine coin flip, and the line has flipped both directions all week depending who you ask. I’ll still take the house. Texas has the better offensive front right now, full stop, and Ohio State’s first real road trip as defending champs \u2014 into a sold-out, hostile Austin \u2014 is exactly the kind of spot that catches a team still figuring out its own offensive identity. Small number. Take it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Alabama at Kentucky \u2014 Kentucky +10.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Since DeBoer took over in Tuscaloosa, Alabama is 3-5-1 ATS as a road favorite. That’s not a small sample anymore, that’s a pattern. And this is their first road test of the year, against a Kentucky team that just threw for 301 yards and four scores behind a new transfer quarterback in Kenny Minchey. Double digits feels like too much to lay here. Give me the points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Arizona at BYU \u2014 Arizona +7.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Last year these two needed double OT in Provo \u2014 tied at the end of regulation. A season later, BYU’s favored by a touchdown and a half in the same stadium. I don’t see it. Fifita’s back, Arizona’s defense returns most of its pieces, and a home winning streak doesn’t erase how close this rivalry actually plays. Take the points and don’t overthink it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Arizona State at Texas A&M \u2014 Texas A&M -14.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Arizona State beat Morgan State 70-7 in Week 1. Great, so did a lot of teams beat an FCS program by 60-plus \u2014 it tells you almost nothing. Texas A&M shut out Missouri State and has Marcel Reed back, who’s quietly been one of the more efficient dual-threat quarterbacks in the country the last two seasons. The Aggies are 11-0 ATS the last 11 times they’ve been the ranked team at home against an unranked opponent. Two touchdowns is the number. Lay it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Wake Forest at Purdue \u2014 Wake Forest -3.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Wake Forest played its opener on a Thursday, which means extra rest, and they used it \u2014 beat Akron by 22. Purdue’s 44-19 win over Indiana State looked better on the scoreboard than it did on tape. Neither team separates itself much here, so I’ll just side with whoever had more time to prepare. That’s Wake Forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Rice at Notre Dame \u2014 Notre Dame -44.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Biggest number on the board, and usually a spread this size is a fade. Not this one. Notre Dame’s defense shredded Wisconsin’s line in the second half of Week 1, and Rice needed a legitimately strong defensive effort just to hold an FCS opponent to three points. Freeman’s Irish are 28-16-1 ATS as favorites at Notre Dame. Some 40-plus spreads are traps. This isn’t one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Western Kentucky at Georgia \u2014 Georgia -39.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    WKU lost 49-14 at Nevada last week and now has to fly into Athens to face a defense that allowed 99 passing yards to Tennessee State. Georgia’s offense doesn’t rely on one guy, so garbage-time backups rarely slow it down late. There isn’t much to debate here. Lay it and move on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
