Week 2 humbled everybody who bet favorites \u2014 us included, going 3-13 against the spread in a week where double-digit dogs kept winning outright and 2-0 teams kept losing straight up. Seattle blew out Arizona by 24, the Giants got run off their own field by the Rams a week after upsetting Dallas, and Chicago went from hanging 59 points to scoring 3. Three weeks in, records actually mean something now, so here’s where every team stands and a spread pick for all 16 games. Lines via DraftKings as of Sept. 21.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, Sept. 24<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Falcons at Packers \u2014 Packers -7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atlanta is 0-2 and scored three total points last week in a blowout loss to Carolina \u2014 that’s not a slump, that’s an offense that isn’t working. Green Bay needed overtime to get past the Jets, so this isn’t a great Packers team either, but there’s a real talent gap here that a home game at Lambeau should widen. Lay the touchdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, Sept. 27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chiefs at Dolphins \u2014 Chiefs -10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kansas City is 2-0, including an overtime road win at Indianapolis that showed some grit, and Patrick Mahomes looks fully back from the ACL tear. Miami is 0-2 and just got beaten by 22 on the road by San Francisco. That’s a big number to lay in September, and I’d trim it if I could shop a better line elsewhere, but on talent alone this isn’t close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panthers at Browns \u2014 Panthers -2.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carolina just hung 34 on Atlanta and Bryce Young has looked like a different quarterback through two weeks. Cleveland is 1-1, but the win over Tampa Bay needed a fourth-quarter push and this offense still isn’t consistently moving the ball. Small number, take the better offense on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bengals at Steelers \u2014 Bengals -3.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cincinnati is the last unbeaten team on this board outside Kansas City and San Francisco, and Joe Burrow’s had a clean two weeks. Pittsburgh scored three total points last week against New England \u2014 an offense that quiet is a real problem, not a blip. Lay the field goal and change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Texans at Colts \u2014 Colts +1.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Houston is 0-2 and has scored 31 and then 6 \u2014 wildly inconsistent, and the 6-point output came against a Bengals defense that isn’t a top-tier unit. Indianapolis lost in overtime to Kansas City, which is a much better loss than anything Houston’s produced. Take the home dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patriots at Jaguars \u2014 Patriots +2.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New England responded to a Week 1 blowout loss by beating Pittsburgh at home, 20-3, and Drake Maye didn’t turn the ball over. Jacksonville looked great in Week 1 and then lost on the road to Denver \u2014 the kind of letdown that makes me want the points against them the following week. Take New England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jets at Lions \u2014 Lions -6.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detroit’s coming off a letdown loss to Buffalo after that overtime opener, but this is still a more talented roster than a Jets team that just blew a lead and lost in overtime to Green Bay. Lay the number at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Titans at Giants \u2014 Titans +5.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Giants just got run off the field at home, 28-6, by the Rams \u2014 the kind of performance that should make you pump the brakes before laying almost a touchdown the following week. Tennessee’s 0-2 and its offense is a mess, but it played Philadelphia tight for a half last week. I’d rather take the points here than trust a Giants team that just had its worst game of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chargers at Bills \u2014 Bills -7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles is 0-2 and has been outscored by a combined 26 points already. Buffalo’s 2-0 and averaging nearly 39 a game. This isn’t a hard one. Lay it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seahawks at Commanders \u2014 Seahawks -6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seattle’s 2-0 and just blew out Arizona by 24 with Sam Darnold looking fully healthy again. Washington’s 0-2 and hasn’t found any rhythm on offense around Jayden Daniels. Lay the number on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vikings at Buccaneers \u2014 Vikings -2.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minnesota’s 2-0 without scoring much \u2014 a 9-3 defensive slugfest last week \u2014 but that defense has been the best story of the young season. Tampa Bay’s 0-2 with both losses coming by single scores, which says the roster’s competitive but still finding ways to lose close ones. Take the better defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardinals at 49ers \u2014 49ers -8.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arizona looked good in Week 1 and then got smoked by Seattle, 31-7, in Week 2 \u2014 that’s the version of this team I trust less. San Francisco’s 2-0 and has outscored opponents by 24 points a game. Big number, but lay it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ravens at Cowboys \u2014 Cowboys +3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baltimore lost at home to New Orleans last week, which is the kind of result that should cost a team its favorite status on the road the next week, not just get shrugged off. Dallas responded to its Week 1 loss with a 17-point win over Washington. I’ll take the home dog here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raiders at Saints \u2014 Raiders +3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las Vegas is 2-0 and has been one of the better stories of the season so far, running the ball effectively both weeks. New Orleans is 1-1 off an emotional win over Baltimore, but I’m not laying points against an undefeated team on the road just because the home team had one good week. Take the Raiders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday Night, Sept. 27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rams at Broncos \u2014 Rams -2.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Angeles bounced back from the Melbourne blowout in the best way possible, beating the Giants 28-6. Denver’s 1-1 after a solid road win at Jacksonville, but the Rams looked like the better overall roster even in that ugly Week 1 loss. Lay the field goal on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday Night, Sept. 28<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eagles at Bears \u2014 Eagles -4.5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philadelphia’s 2-0, though it’s needed the fourth quarter to close out both wins. Chicago went from 59 points in Week 1 to 3 points in Week 2 against Minnesota \u2014 that’s an offense that hasn’t figured out how to be consistent yet. Lay the number on the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
