Josh Downs asked out last week. But Jonathan Taylor is the name the whole league is watching.
If you’re asking who the next big NFL trade is, JT is our pick. The Colts are 2-6 after getting blown out 42-7 in Jacksonville on Sunday. Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported Saturday that Indy is now open to moving him. And at least six teams have been calling.
No sportsbook has a market up. Kalshi does, and traders there have Minnesota as the favorite. We built our own board anyway. Here’s how we’d price it. If you want to see where real NFL lines are posted, check our best NFL betting sites and apps.

Why Is Taylor Next Out the Door?
Because the Colts have basically told everyone they’re done with 2026.
They fired Chris Ballard. They shipped Quenton Nelson to Seattle and DeForest Buckner to San Francisco. Downs asked out the next day. And word is a bunch of other guys in that locker room want out too.
Taylor is the last big piece left. He’s 27 and turns 28 in January. Running backs don’t age well. If you’re rebuilding, this is about as high as his value gets.
He hasn’t asked for a trade. He said he’s “proud to wear the horseshoe,” and owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon reportedly loves the guy. The two sat down last week for a long talk about his future.
But Indy also knows what he’d bring back. And the Colts don’t have their 2027 first after the Sauce Gardner deal. That’s a big reason to listen.
What Will It Cost?
Way more than Downs.
Indy already turned down a 2027 second-rounder plus another pick, per Tom Pelissero. Albert Breer says teams will have to blow the Colts away. The comp everyone keeps bringing up is the Christian McCaffrey trade, which cost San Francisco a second, third, fourth and fifth across two drafts.
Then there’s the contract. Taylor signed a two-year, $44 million extension in August. Whoever gets him is paying real money for a running back.
So this isn’t a deal every contender can make. It’s for teams with picks, cap room and an actual hole in the backfield.
Minnesota Vikings, +150
This is the favorite, and it’s not that close.
Minnesota is 6-1, but it’s winning with defense and special teams. Kyler Murray and the offense have been stuck in the mud.
Aaron Jones has been playing through a knee issue, and Jordan Mason fractured his thumb earlier this year. Breer says the Vikings and Giants have been the most aggressive teams shopping for backs over the last couple of weeks.
Taylor gives them a real engine on offense. That’s the kind of move that wins you a playoff game in January.
Stays with Colts, +200
Better chance than you’d think.
Indy keeps saying it’s listening, not shopping. Irsay-Gordon wants him around for the rebuild. And he’s under contract, so if nobody meets the price, they can just hang on.
But they already said no to a second-rounder. If someone shows up with a McCaffrey-type package, we think they take it.
Denver Broncos, +400
Denver needs a back. The Broncos are averaging 3.8 yards per carry and the run game just hasn’t worked.
James Palmer reported Denver jumped into the sweepstakes, and one DNVR podcast host said the Broncos will do “everything in their power” to land him.
The problem is picks. Denver has dealt a lot of firsts in recent years, and the Colts would probably ask for rookie RB Jonah Coleman in any deal. That’s a tough sell.
New York Giants, +600
The Giants are in first place and John Harbaugh wants to run the ball. Taylor and Cam Skattebo would be a nasty one-two punch.
Breer has them right there with Minnesota as the most aggressive RB shoppers. The catch is Palmer also said the Giants have been looking at another back. And it’s fair to ask whether a team this early in a rebuild should be paying up for a 27-year-old running back.
Green Bay Packers, +900
Green Bay has been on this list since the first reports dropped. Rapoport named the Packers among the early callers, and Jordan Schultz said they’re still chasing him.
They just haven’t been as loud as Minnesota or Denver. We’ll keep them in the middle.
Seattle Seahawks, +1000
Seattle already did business with Indy when it grabbed Nelson. So the phone lines are open.
But the backfield is getting healthy. Zach Charbonnet is working back from a torn ACL, and first-round rookie Jadarian Price is close to returning from a shoulder injury. Hard to see them spending big here.
Cincinnati Bengals, +1400
Schultz named Cincinnati among the teams going after Taylor hard.
Still, linebacker looks like the bigger need for the Bengals. Fun swing, but we’re not betting on it.
New England Patriots, +2000
Pelissero listed the Patriots among the teams that called. That’s about all there is. Long shot.
When Will We Know?
The deadline is Tuesday, November 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
Taylor’s going to keep playing until something happens, so this weekend matters. If Indy drops another one, the pressure to sell goes up. If Minnesota’s offense sputters again, the pressure to buy goes up too.
And don’t forget Downs. The Colts told teams they’d rather keep him, but he still wants out. Indy could end up moving both before the week is over.
