The Chargers had a whole bye week to fix things. They came back and lost to the Rams 24-9.
So yeah, 0-7. Still the only team in the league without a win, and they haven’t found the end zone in two weeks.
Tennessee nearly pulled off a stunner in Cincinnati before Joe Burrow ran one in on the first drive of overtime. Miami had New England down 10 at halftime and still lost.
Oh, and the Eagles are here now. Six straight losses. Wild.
Over on Kalshi, the Chargers sit at 1% to make the playoffs. Titans, Dolphins and Eagles? 2% apiece.

Los Angeles Chargers, +140
Nobody’s catching them right now.
LA was actually up 9-3 at the half. Every one of those points came off Cameron Dicker’s leg, though, because Jim Harbaugh kept kicking on fourth-and-short inside Rams territory. Bad idea. The Rams ripped off 21 in a row after that.
Herbert tossed two more picks. He’s at 10 for the season, which is hard to even type.
NFL Research dug up a brutal one: no team had ever started 0-7 the year after winning 11 or more games. Until now.
Houston visits SoFi on Sunday. After that it’s a trip to Baltimore. Not exactly a soft landing.
Tennessee Titans, +225
Tennessee shipped Jeffery Simmons to Chicago on Thursday. Three days later they had the Bengals on the ropes.
Cam Ward was good. Actually good. 304 yards and two scores. Tony Pollard added 117 on the ground, and Amani Hooker picked off Burrow three times.
They were up 36-29 with under four minutes left. Burrow hit Tee Higgins to tie it with 1:17 on the clock, then scrambled in from 9 yards out in OT.
Worth knowing for this market: the Chargers and Titans both max out at 10-7 now. Same ceiling.
The difference is the Titans keep showing up. The Chargers don’t.
Miami Dolphins, +500
For one half, Miami looked like a team that might win two straight.
Then came a third quarter where the offense managed 13 net yards. Total. Drake Maye threw for two TDs, ran for another, and the Pats walked out with a 24-19 win.
Miami had chances late. A missed field goal, a botched two-point try and an onside kick that went nowhere.
1-6 still means one less loss than the Chargers and Titans. That’s why they’re third. Detroit comes to Hard Rock next, and Kalshi gives Miami about a 1-in-4 shot.
Philadelphia Eagles, +900
Didn’t think we’d be writing about Philly in this piece. Yet here we are.
The Eagles went into Washington on Sunday night, scored on the first drive and then… nothing. Commanders won 27-10.
That’s six losses in a row. At 2-6, it’s Philly’s worst start since 1999.
No Jalen Hurts for the rest of the regular season. Tanner McKee got sacked five times.
The NFC East is weak enough to keep them breathing. Barely. And the division-leading Giants come to town next.
The Field, +1000
Arizona’s off the board after one of the weirder comebacks of the year. The Cards pulled Jacoby Brissett for Gardner Minshew in the third quarter, Tyler Allgeier ran for 147, and they rallied from 17-3 down to win 33-30 in OT in Dallas.
Indy (2-6) got blown out 42-7 in Jacksonville and is selling off pieces. Shane Steichen says everything’s being evaluated. Never a good sign.
The Jets (2-6) found another way to lose, falling 38-33 to the Raiders. Throw in the Saints (2-5), Commanders (2-4-1) and Texans (2-5) too.
When Will We Know?
Not for a few weeks. Elimination means no path left even if you win out. Late November is the earliest we’d expect it.
Week 9 games worth watching:
- Texans at Chargers: Can LA dodge 0-8?
- Lions at Dolphins: Miami’s a big underdog at home.
- Giants at Eagles: Philly has to stop the slide sometime.
- Cowboys at Colts: Indy’s fire sale could get uglier.
If the Bolts lose again, they’re all alone with the most losses in the NFL.
