Two years ago Saquon Barkley ran for 2,005 yards, won Offensive Player of the Year and got a ring in Philly. Now his name is all over trade deadline chatter.
That’s how fast things went sideways for the Eagles.
Philly is 2-4 and has dropped four straight. Jalen Hurts is done for the year after doctors found blood clots in his lungs. Tanner McKee is the starter. And Howie Roseman has a call to make before the November 10 deadline.

Why Is Saquon Even on the Block?
Short version: the Eagles are falling apart and he’s 29.
He’s suited up for four games this year and left two of them in the first quarter. That’s 36 carries for 182 yards, plus four catches for eight yards. A hamstring has kept him out since the Week 4 loss to the Rams.
The weird part? He’s still over 5 yards a carry when he’s out there. And without him, Philly ran for 57 yards across two whole games. Woof.
So he can still play. He’s just pricey, banged up and turns 30 in February.
The Money Problem
This is the big one.
Barkley makes $16.75 million this year, but the Eagles already paid about $15.45 million of it through bonuses. A buyer is only covering scraps in 2026. That’s why ESPN’s Dan Graziano called him a low-risk pickup and said Philly could ask for a lot.
The catch for the Eagles? Moving him dumps roughly $26.5 million in dead cap on their 2027 books. Tough pill.
Stays with Eagles, -200
Still the most likely outcome, and it’s not close.
Roseman doesn’t panic. The Eagles have enough draft capital to retool without blowing it all up. And Saquon is lined up to come back Monday night against Dallas, a defense that’s been leaky against the run.
If he goes off on MNF and Philly gets to 3-4, the sell talk cools fast. Our guess is the Eagles listen, set a crazy price and dare somebody to meet it.
Houston Texans, +400
Houston has the loudest buzz. ESPN’s Ben Solak pitched a deal sending Woody Marks, a 2027 third, a 2027 sixth and a 2028 second to Philly.
It makes sense. The Texans are 2-4 and on pace for another bottom-five rushing attack. Barkley in that backfield takes heat off Nico Collins and maybe saves their season.
Minnesota Vikings, +500
Bill Barnwell’s version had Minnesota sending a conditional 2027 third-rounder. That’s cheap for Saquon.
The Vikings’ defense is legit and Kyler Murray is under center. Add Barkley as the lead back and that offense gets scary. Minnesota would also get him for 2027 at a pretty reasonable number.
Seattle Seahawks, +900
Seattle keeps popping up. The problem is Zach Charbonnet is due back soon, which makes Barkley more of a luxury than a need.
Still, if the Seahawks think they’re one back away from a deep run, they could pay up.
Jacksonville Jaguars, +1200
The Jags get mentioned as a fit for a lead back next to Trevor Lawrence. Nothing concrete yet, though. Mostly talk-show stuff right now.
Cincinnati Bengals, +1500
Graziano tossed the Bengals in as a team to watch. We haven’t seen much beyond that, so we’re keeping them long.
New York Giants, +5000
Yeah, we know. A reunion would be wild. SI’s Mike Kadlick floated it after John Harbaugh said the Giants don’t have a true lead back.
But trading him inside the division, back to the team he left? Roseman isn’t doing that. Lottery ticket.
When Will We Know?
The deadline is Tuesday, November 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
Philly plays three more games before then, all against NFC East teams. Dallas on Monday night is the big one. If Saquon looks healthy and the Eagles win, his price goes up and the odds of him staying get even shorter.
Lose again and the phones start ringing.
