Sunday’s win in Vegas might have cost Kansas City two receivers. It also might bring back an old one.
The Chiefs beat the Raiders 30-27 to move to 4-0, but Tyquan Thornton was carted off in the fourth quarter with a dislocated left ankle. He’s out indefinitely. Rashee Rice left in the first quarter with a hamstring issue, and Andy Reid said he “tweaked” it.
Within hours, the Tyreek Hill chatter circus was back on.

Why the Chiefs Are the Favorite
The Athletic’s Mike Silver reported Sunday night that the Chiefs are “very interested” in Hill and already reached out to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
Thornton was having the best game of his career before he got hurt. He had five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns, including the 55-yard grab on the play that ended his day.
Rice’s injury might be worse than it first sounded too. Silver reported he could miss several weeks.
That leaves Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce and really not a whole lot else for Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce isn’t hiding where he stands. He called Hill a brother and said he’d love to have him back in the building.
Hill didn’t say much. After Thornton went down, he posted one word on X: “hm.”
Where Hill’s Knee Stands
This is the part that keeps the price from being even shorter.
Hill dislocated his left knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, in Week 4 of last season with Miami. He’s had two surgeries since. The Dolphins cut him in February.
Rosenhaus said in September that doctors wanted Hill to hold off until sometime in October. Silver’s latest report says Hill is now targeting a November return.
He turns 33 next March and he hasn’t played a snap in over a year. Any team signing him needs to be fine with that.
Kansas City gets some breathing room here. The Chiefs are on bye this week and don’t play again until October 18 against the Chargers. There’s no rush to have him ready tomorrow.
The Rest of the Board
Buffalo has been the steady No. 2 all year. Josh Allen’s arm and Hill’s speed is an easy pitch, and the Bills could still use a true vertical threat.
Minnesota got a bump after Hill tweeted he might be “ready for some cold weather.” There was also chatter about Rosenhaus meeting with Vikings executives, but nobody has confirmed it.
Baltimore makes sense on paper. Hill next to Zay Flowers with Lamar Jackson throwing would be a nightmare for defenses. There just hasn’t been much noise out of that building.
Our Take
The Chiefs at -150 makes the most sense.
They have the need, the history and the interest. Hill spent six years in Kansas City and won a Super Bowl there. People inside the building reportedly think he’d fit right in with this group.
If Hill passes a physical in the next few weeks, it’s hard to see him ending up anywhere else.
