Nobody’s been fired yet. Not one coach. And October is over, which is kind of nuts, because since 2022 somebody always got the boot by Halloween.
Week 8 sure didn’t help the usual suspects. The Eagles lost again, the Colts got run over, and the Chargers still can’t buy a win.

Nick Sirianni, Eagles (+120)
Six straight losses. Sunday night in Washington was ugly. Philly was up 10-0, then just fell apart and lost 27-10.
No Hurts, no offense, no answers. The Giants are up next and Sirianni needs that one bad.
Shane Steichen, Colts (+250)
Getting smoked 42-7 in Jacksonville is rough. Four losses in a row now.
The Cowboys come to Indy next. Good luck.
Aaron Glenn, Jets (+400)
Jets lost a shootout to the Raiders, 38-33, at home. Fun game, bad result. Now they get Kansas City.
Jim Harbaugh, Chargers (+500)
0-7 after the Rams beat them 24-9. Harbaugh’s name carries weight, so he probably gets more rope than most. Houston is next, and honestly that’s their best shot at a win.
Robert Saleh, Titans (+800)
Tennessee put up 36 in Cincinnati and still lost. The defense gave up 43. Rough day for a guy who built his name on defense.
Brian Schottenheimer, Cowboys (+1000)
Another close one that got away, 33-30 to Arizona at home. 3-5 and heading to Indy.
Dan Quinn, Commanders (+1400)
Finally, a win. Washington handled the Eagles 27-10 and Quinn can breathe for a week. The Rams come to town next.
Todd Bowles, Buccaneers (+2000)
Tampa blanked Atlanta 16-0. Good bounce back. Bowles is way down the board for now, and the Bears on Sunday night are a real test.
Everyone else
The Texans were off. They head to the Chargers next, so somebody’s getting a win there.
Packers and Patriots both won and both sit at 5-3. They play each other next, so one of them stumbles. Neither coach is in any trouble.
Week 9
Eagles-Giants is the one I’m watching. Sirianni can’t afford to lose that. Jets at Chiefs and Cowboys at Colts aren’t far behind.
The window closed with no firing, but that doesn’t mean it stays quiet. I’d keep an eye on Sirianni and Steichen.
